Terrific Kid/Scout Trip

I was pulling all Dylan's papers out yesterday when I found a letter to me stating he won the Terrific Kid award and would be awarded on April 29th.  I am so proud, this award goes to one kid out of every class every 6 weeks.  You earn it by being respectful and always using your manners around your peers and teachers, Just a general good attitude.   He is always telling me how he carries library books to the library, papers to the office or a sick child to the nurse.  He's such an amazing little human.  Way to go Dylan!

In other news, Camyryn's birthday party is this weekend.  It's going to a small, intimate get together with family and a few friends who have children her age.  I had to drive 20 miles to pick out the cake she wanted.  She didn't want Princesses only Ariel from the Little Mermaid "by herself" and I was able to find it after much looking around.  We bought her 2 pairs of shoes, 3 outfits, a magnetic wooden doll she can dress and that came with lots of accessories and a storage case, and a bike.  The doll will be a hit, I bought her a doll with snap on clothes after Christmas and she still plays with it.

Nathan is OK.  We went to Carowinds for the Adventure Base Camp thing.  The kids had so much fun.  I wish I had remembered to reapply the sunblock, we were all toasty.  We left before 9 and got home at 7 that night.  There was so much to do and some of the lines were maddening.  Camryn only got tired once so I walked her around the parking lot for about 20 minutes and then she was good again.  I think she was stressing over how loud the line was where we were standing.  We had to stand in this one line for an hour and a half so the boys could do the 'monkey gym' and we were right in front of the speakers while they were singing karaoke to Sugar Land.  It was horrible.  I was glad to get away.

We teamed up with Cindy and spent all day together.  Our boys are the same age and get along great.   Nathan and Collin are in 2nd grade and Dylan and Jason are in kindergarten.  Dylan and Jason will be Tiger scouts next year, I'm excited!

I loved all this Native American stuff.  I have strong Cherokee roots.

Then it was Dylan's turn.

Silly boys!

Playing a game crafted of sticks.  It was longgg.  Cindy and I made the mistake of sitting down and we realized then we were so tired. BUT The day was almost over.

We missed the horseback riding but we watched this girl ride around

My honey and our girl.

This trip was a once in a lifetime trip, it was there to celebrate 100 years of scouting.  I learned  so much about the history.  It was wonderful.
